Code Aakar is run by Darpan Varshney as an individual, as an independent initiative in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. We keep this privacy policy simple so parents and students can understand how their information is used.
1. Who we are
Code Aakar is run by Darpan Varshney as an independent initiative in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. If you have a question, email varshneydarpan128@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
We only collect the details needed for a waitlist form and for checking eligibility. The form asks for:
- Type: school or college
- Full name
- Age
- State and city
- School or college name
- Coding experience
- Class (for school students) or year of study (for college students)
- Parent or guardian name (school students only)
- Email address
- Mobile number
The app also stores a record of consent time after approval. We do not ask for more personal information than this unless a specific event asks for it and we tell you why.
3. Why we collect it
We collect this information to keep a waitlist, to contact parents about updates, and to check that the student is in the correct class or year for the event. We also use school or college names so we can suggest the right opportunities to students in the same area.
4. Parental consent
For students under 18, a parent or guardian must review the details and tick an approval box on the form before we store anything.
5. Children's data protection
We do not track or monitor children's behaviour, do not show targeted advertising, and do not do anything likely to harm a child. We use the information only to manage waitlists and event updates.
6. Who can see the data
Only Darpan Varshney can view and manage the waitlist information, and only for the limited purpose of running the event and contacting the relevant parent or student. We do not share personal details in a public list.
7. Third-party services
We use a small number of services to run the website and store waitlist details.
- Vercel: hosts the website and server functions.
- Neon Postgres + Prisma: stores waitlist records in a database. This is where the form submissions are kept.
- Google Analytics 4: only loads if the visitor accepts analytics cookies. It helps us understand page visits and site activity.
- Google Fonts: loads the design fonts used on the site.
- Instagram: external link used for updates and public posts.
- Calendly: external meeting link for scheduling calls.
- Mail service: not currently configured for automated parent emails in the public form flow.
8. We do not sell or rent data
We do not sell, rent, or trade student or parent data. We do not show targeted advertising using this information. We do not use personal data for ad networks.
9. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are used only after consent. The site asks before loading Google Analytics, and the choice is kept in a first-party cookie for 180 days. You can change your choice at any time from the footer, where the Cookie settings link appears.
If you reject analytics cookies, the site will not load the Google Analytics script, and the analytics cookies are removed from the browser.
10. Retention
Until the waitlist or event ends, or until a parent asks us to delete it.
11. Rights of parents and students
Parents and students can ask to view, correct, delete, withdraw consent, or nominate a trusted person to act on their behalf. If a parent asks for deletion or correction, we will review the request and respond within a reasonable time. To make a request, email varshneydarpan128@gmail.com.
12. Grievance contact
If you have a concern, please contact Darpan Varshney at varshneydarpan128@gmail.com.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect the information we hold, including access controls and secure hosting. However, no system is perfect, and no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
14. Data breach
If a data breach or serious security incident happens, we will inform affected parents and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
15. Data stored outside India
Some services used by the site may store or process data on servers outside India. Based on the services in this project, the main ones are: Vercel, Neon Postgres, Google Analytics, Google Fonts, Instagram, and Calendly. Their exact server locations may change over time, and we cannot guarantee that all data stays in India at all times.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect how the project works, changes in the law, or improvements to the site. The most recent version will always be posted on this page.
